1. Where do you conduct evaluations and provide treatment?

We conduct evaluations and therapy sessions in our office in South Orange, NJ, just down the street from the South Mountain Annex Elementary School. School observations are completed as part of the initial evaluation process if necessary. We conduct limited morning sessions in local schools/daycares in Maplewood and South Orange, depending on school permission and schedule availability. 

2.   What is the age range of children you evaluate/treat?

We work with children from infancy through teenage years. We can address feeding/oral motor difficulties beginning in infancy, and speech/language delays beginning around 18 months of age depending on the areas of difficulty.

3. What is the average length of treatment?  

This is completely dependent on your child’s areas of difficulty as well as frequency of sessions and participation in carryover tasks. Once your child is evaluated, we will discuss your child’s treatment plan in detail so that you can anticipate what to expect for each step in the therapy process.  

4. Does my child need to have an evaluation before beginning therapy?

Yes. We will conduct a comprehensive evaluation based on your concerns, and will determine a treatment plan with actionable goals, which will be the basis for beginning therapy. The treatment plan will then be discussed with you in a family meeting prior to beginning therapy. If your child has received a recent full speech-language evaluation elsewhere in the past 3 months, we will review the reports to determine whether any other testing needs to be performed in order to formulate an appropriate treatment plan.  

5. Do you accept insurance?

Village Therapy does not participate with health insurance plans, however, we will provide you with documentation to submit to your insurance for reimbursement (if you qualify for out-of-network benefits).

6. What are your rates for evaluations and therapy services?  

We offer competitive rates for both evaluations and therapy services, which we will provide to you upon request. Depending on your needs, you may choose to pay per session or buy a discounted package of sessions.
